On November 20, 2012 the City Council approved the engineering services contract for the design of traffic signals at Dickey Road at SH161 NBFR, SW 14th Street at SH161 SBFR, January Lane at SH161 SBFR, Hill Street at SH161 NBFR, Brady Lane at Pioneer Pkwy, S. Carrier Pkwy at Desco Lane, MacArthur BLVD. at City Landfill, and MacArthur BLVD. at Industrial Driveway for the total amount of $94,500.
 
Change order/Amendment No. 1 provides for a reduction of ($40,000) for the removal of traffic signal design at Dickey Road at SH161 NBFR, SW 14th Street at SH161 SBFR, January Lane at SH161 SBFR, and Hill Street at SH161 NBFR from the design contract.  These signals are located within TXDOT ROW and TXDOT has agreed to design and construct traffic signals at these locations.  This change order/amendment also provides for the design of a new traffic signal on Main Street for the New Fire Station No. 1 in the amount of $10,500.
 
Financial Consideration
State statutes require City Council approval of a change order when the cumulative cost of this change order exceeds $50,000.  With approval of this change order, the City Manager will be able to approve the change order to a cumulative value of $50,000 without additional Council approval.
 
No Funding is required for this change order as it is a negative amount of ($29,500). Funding for staff costs of reviewing signal design plans in the amount of $3,500 is available in the Street Capital Projects Fund (400192), WO #01205703 (FY12 High Accident Locations).
