Analysis
This price agreement is for the purchase of traffic signal controllers and cabinets for new construction projects for the Transportation Department as well as replacements and inventory for the Public Works Street Division. The Transportation Department estimates an annual expenditure of $60,000 for new construction and the Street Division estimates an annual expenditure of $90,375 for replacement and inventory.
Notice of bid #16111 was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, the State's Electronic Business Daily, and Bid Sync; it was distributed to 23 vendors. There were two Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity. Six bids were received as shown on attachment A.
The low bid received from Iteris meets specifications and is recommended for award.
Financial Consideration
Funds for new construction will be available in various Transportation CIP accounts. Funds for replacements and inventory are available in FY 2015/2016 budget Traffic Signal Maintenance (251310-63125) and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the current fiscal year. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budgets.
