Analysis

On March 3, 2015, the City Council approved the transportation fiber communication network upgrade from fiber optic Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) communication system to an Ethernet communication system.

During the design review process, it was discovered that the existing analog cameras are not compatible with the proposed Ethernet communication network and need to be upgraded to digital cameras.  The existing cameras were installed during the initial construction of the fiber optic communication network, and it is at end-of-life and needs to be replaced.

This purchase request allows for the replacement of twenty-eight (28) existing analog traffic cameras to the standard HD digital cameras.
