Analysis
The city is installing a new wastewater line on Avenue K in order to provide additional needed wastewater capacity. This pipeline route encroaches on the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way and as such requires a license from the railroad. The purpose of the communication is to request authority to enter into the license agreement with the railroad. The agreement requires the City to pay a one-time license fee of $12,900 and obtain Railroad Protective Liability Insurance. Our insurance consultants are looking into the insurance requirements.
