Analysis

Huntington Industrial Partners - Texas is seeking to develop a 15.02 acre property that is located within the municipal jurisdictions of both the City of Grand Prairie and the City of Fort Worth. This existing municipal line is also the county line between Tarrrant and Dallas Counties. The developer proposes to build a 130,400 sq. ft. industrial building on the property. However, the proposed building would straddle the municipal line between Grand Prairie and Fort Worth and therefore be unbuildable without action by both cities. Since Grand Prairie is able and willing to provide all services (street access, water, sewer, police, fire, etc.) to the property, the property owners have requested to dis-annex a 6.17 acre portion of their property from Fort Worth's corporate limits and they now seek Grand Prairie City Council approval to annex the property into the corporate limits of Grand Prairie.
