Analysis
These vehicles will replace existing class 7 and class 8 dump trucks in the fleet according to the city replacement schedule and are included in the FY 2017 Approved Budget. The replaced units are:
- one (1), unit, age 2008, class 8 roll-off truck in Landfill totaling $156,279.00,
- one (1), unit, age 2006, class 8 flush truck in Wastewater Maintenance totaling $324,161.85, and
- two (2), units, age 1999, class 7 utility body trucks in Wastewater Maintenance & Water Distribution totaling $244,984.02, and
- eight (8), units, age 1991-2000, class 7 and 8 dump trucks in Streets totaling $977,675.20.

* Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in cooperative purchasing programs with other local governments or local cooperative organizations. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as they have performed the bidding processes by the sponsoring entities or agencies. The City of Grand Prairie utilizes existing master, inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including Tarrant County interlocal agreement.
