Analysis
On November 19, 2013, Council approved a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) construction contract with Pogue Construction in the amount of $3,856,295 for a new Fire Station No. 1 replacement facility, and approved a 5% contingency in the amount of $192,815 .

On May 20, 2014, Council approved Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $91,042, which comprised a compilation of request for proposed changes Nos. 1 through 5 that had been requested of the Contractor.

At this time City staff is requesting Council approval of Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $72,167, which is a compilation of request for proposed changes Nos. 6 through 8 that have been requested of and received from the Contractor since approval of Change Order No. 2.

Request for proposed change No. 6 in the amount of $21,520 provides for security cameras rough-in, added pier depth for brick columns at parking lot fencing, additional exhaust damper in apparatus bays, uplights at station flagpoles, addition of station paging system, cable TV and data drops, and ceiling fans in the officers' quarters.

Request for proposed change No. 7 in the amount of $21,032 provides for installation of the concrete inlet top at the gutter inlet on Main Street, installation of concrete benches that will also serve as bollard protection for the new sculpture art tower, revisions to the concrete foundation at the sculpture art tower, change of all bald cypress tress to red oaks, and upgraded sizing of all major trees planted on site.

Request for proposed change No. 8 in the amount of $29,615 provides for the addition of an intermediate level metal grating platform with ladder access in the station tower and demolition and replacement of curb, gutter and adjacent portions of Main Street in the TxDOT right of way to ...
