Analysis
Unit #2734 was involved in a motor vehicle accident on May 2, 2016. Repairs to this unit were completed by the manufacturer, Pierce Manufacturing of WI, through our local dealer Siddons-Martin in Denton, TX. Total damages to the cab and waterway of the truck was $270,062.36. Damages prior to this incident of $8,330 were noted and necessary to be repaired prior to repairing damages from the accident.
TML reimbursed the City a total of $273,331.87. Reimbursement for damages to the unit was $261,831 and damages to computer equipment was $2,711.51 (50% depreciation applied to computer equipment). TML will work to recover the full amount including our $1,000 deductible.
Financial Consideration
Funding in the amount of $8,330 was expensed from Fleet Services operation budget (225510) cost of outside repairs (63195) and $270,062.36 from the RISK fund (212010) auto related losses (64010).
