Analysis
The City currently operates a new P25 Motorola radio system which consists of highly technical communications equipment. It remains vital that all public safety radio systems remain in good working order through regular preventative maintenance. In order to achieve and maintain the highest level of operation and efficiency from this equipment it is necessary to have specialized equipment that analyzes all City radios for optimum performance and maintenance problems.
The “Diagnost Over-the-Air Wave” analyzer” (a diagnostic tool for P25 Radio systems), will accomplish this preventative maintenance. The benefits of this analyzer are multifaceted. It proactively prioritizes the scheduling of radio maintenance, ensures clear communication by identifying tuning and maintenance problems, monitors all radios over the air in real time, and allows the Radio Manager to measure and evaluate the quality of communications across various departments who share the system. The purchase of this Analyzer will give the Radio Manager the ability to analyze a specific radio, detect its historical problems, and make repair decisions prior to sending it to the Motorola Repair Depot, thus saving costs in both time and money.
