Analysis
TRA is replacing a major trunk line (designated as MC3) in the North Fork of Fish Creek. This section of the creek is located across from the Outlet Mall and south of Forum Estates. It will be necessary for them to extend
City lines coming from the adjacent subdivisions, which will be done at TRA expense. City forces evaluated the existing wastewater lines, found them in poor condition, and recommend renewal of the entire lines rather than simply extending them. Because TRA will be doing the work of extending the lines, it is more economical for us to have TRA replace the existing city line while their contractor is at the location.

This interlocal agreement provides for reimbursing TRA for replacing existing city lines that tie into but are not a part of their project, as well as providing necessary permanent and temporary working easements. The City will pay the cost after the project in done and cost are reconciled in a "settle-up" process.

Financial Consideration
Funding for the estimated costs to replace the City lines in the amount of $90,000 is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating from the unobligated fund balance in the Water Capital Projects Fund (500592) to WO #01513701-03 (TRA City Owned Lines) 68540 (Construction).
