Analysis
As part of the City's Capital Improvement Projects budget, the City Council approved funds for the construction of an 8" City Wastewater Line to serve Our Lane Residents on January 15, 2013, (12-2344) with an expiration of November 30, 2014. The project improvements provided for TRA to construct a new 84" diameter wastewater trunk line to replace an existing 24" line in Fish Creek that was approaching its' capacity limits. In order to install the line, it was necessary for TRA to cross private lots on Our Lane that back up to Fish Creek. All of these lots are served by on-site sewer systems (septic tanks) and do not currently have City wastewater services. In order for the residents to be served it was necessary to construct a City wastewater line to tie into TRA.

The original agreement was is in the amount of $34,600 plus a 5% contingency of $1,730 for the line construction and $5,000 to fund service line connections/septic tank abandonment for a grand total of $41,330. Since the timeline for payment to Trinity River Authority for this agreement was unsure, the decision was made to release the original funding and reallocate when the timeline was known. At this time it is necessary to request the original, previously approved funding to allow for completion of the wastewater line plus an additional $23,000 for a total request of $64,330.

The current proposed Amendment No. 6 provides for additional construction services funding required for completion of the 8" City Wastewater Line for Our Lane residents.

Amendment No. 1 extended the Interlocal Agreement termination date to December 31, 2015;
