An existing pedestrian bridge on Lone Star Trail has become available for relocation due to construction of Hunter Ferrell Road. Staff contracted with the consultant firm of JEA Hydrotech for engineering plans and documents for bridge piers and cart trail extensions. Plans were developed to include the base bid and three additive alternates as described below:
Base Bid:
Includes grading, concrete piers and abutment, approach paving and bridge installation.
Alternate #1:
Includes grading, cart path paving, tee-box access and sod from #8 green to east approach to pedestrian bridge.
Alternate #2:
Includes cart path grading, trail improvements and sod for trail connection on the west side of bridge to #9 green cart path.
Alternate #3:
Includes removal of existing cart path and low water crossing and finish grading and sod.
A total of seven construction bids were received on July 30, 2012. After review of the bids and alternates, staff recommends acceptance of the base bid and alternate #1.
