Analysis

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires that all cross connection control devices in the water system be tested annually and repaired or replaced as necessary.  The City has approximately 150 devices that are required to be tested annually at about 55 city facilities.

Notice of bid #19073 was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and Bid Sync.  This bid was viewed by 103 vendors, including 2 in Grand Prairie. 2 responses were received. There were no Grand Prairie vendors that submitted a bid.

The best value was received from 1-A Fire & Domestic which is the current vendor and meets specifications and is recommended for award.

Financial Consideration

Funds are available in FY 2018/2019 Water Wastewater Fund (303010-63010)  for building and grounds or paid by other departments according to usage for repairs or replacements. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budgets.
