Analysis
The consultant firm of Magee Architects LP, has submitted a proposal for architectural design services for Grand Prairie Service Center remodel and addition. The proposal for design services is inclusive of civil, landscape, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, architectural and FF&E consultant services. The fee totals $392,945 with a reimbursable amount not to exceed $18,075 for a total contract cost of $411,020. The reimbursables will include TAS plan review, inspection and TDLE filing fee along with geotechnical survey, renderings and plan sets.
Staff is requesting approval of an architectural services agreement for Magee Architects, L.P. for phase one renovations and additions to the existing Service Center Facility located at 1821 South State Highway 161. The phase one scope of work includes approximately 4,400 square feet of existing single-story office space renovations along with a new addition of approximately 19,200 square feet of concrete tilt wall construction with small second story mezzanine space. The new concrete tilt wall construction will include truck service bays, wash bays and parts warehouse provisions. Site work will also be a part of the overall project scope and will entail paving additions, exterior concrete storage bins and site retaining walls which will allow for an increase in the usable extents of the existing site.
Magee Architects, LP was the architectural design firm for the Dalworth Recreation Center remodel and addition, Loyd Park Camp Store and the Charley Taylor Recreation Center renovation.
