Analysis
Based upon complaints about pedestrian crossing activity, it is recommended to amend Schedule III of the Traffic Register by establishing a new school zone on Forum Drive east of Great Southwest Parkway. This zone will be effective 7:15 am until 8:30 am and from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm on school days.

Financial Consideration
The new 20mph reduced speed school zone will be established using solar powered flashers. Funding for the costs associated with this new school zone are available in the FY 2016/2017 General Fund Budget, Signs and Markings Maintenance Budget, account 251910-63115

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, AMENDING SCHEDULE III OF THE TRAFFIC REGISTER TO ESTABLISH MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS LESS THAN 30 MPH; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND TO BECOME EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS:

SECTION 1. THAT Schedule III - Establish Maximum Speed Limits less than 30 mph shall be amended as follows:

SECTION 2. THAT this section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court or competent jurisdiction, such shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof.

SECTION 3. THAT all ordinances or part of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
