Analysis

Dallas County is currently performing the design for the reconstruction of Wildlife Parkway to extend from Belt Line Road West across the Trinity River to connect to the Lower Tarrant Road intersection at SH 161.

As part of this project, the City is responsible for any enhancements beyond the scope of the agreement with Dallas County.  Enhancements include additional vegetation, irrigation and entrance monuments.  The majority of the work will be included as part of the Dallas County project.

This project is to provide schematic landscape plans, contract documents and specifications for the +/- 1.7 mile section of Wildlife Parkway from SH 161 to Belt Line Rd and complete the landscape and irrigation contract documents and specifications for the +/- 1.2 mile section of Hunter-Ferrell Rd from Belt Line Rd to Bear Creek (Grand Prairie City Limits). Services shall include Landscape Architecture and Irrigation Design.  Program items shall include landscaping, gateway monuments and monument lighting.

Design of the roadway project began in April 2016 and is approximately 90% complete.  Wildlife Parkway is scheduled for construction in late 2017/early 2018.
