Analysis
Notice of bid #12038 was advertised and distributed to 497 vendors for the purchase of herbicides, insecticides, and other related chemicals for the  Parks Department's Golf Courses. There were no Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity.  Seven bids were received as shown on attachment A. Six of the seven bids were partial bids, one vendor bid all 45 items. Staff recommends finding the benefits  of dealing with one large contract outweighs the $31,202.88, in cost savings available through seven smaller contracts and thus is in the best interest of the City.

Innovative Turf Supply meets specifications and is recommended for award, as it was the only vendor that could supply all products specified.

Financial Consideration
Funds are available in FY 2011/2012 and proposed FY 2012/2013 budgets in the Golf Operating Fund.  Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year's approved budgets.
