Analysis
On February 17, 2015, The City of Grand Prairie awarded a construction contract to S. J. Louis Construction for the South Sector Wastewater Gravity Main Project in the total amount of $4,891,859 and approved a 5% contingency in the amount of $244,593; for a total amount of $5,136,452.
This change order/Amendment No. 3 provides for additional costs of construction already incurred during the Joe Pool flooding event and already incurred by request by TxDot to provide access at State highways 287 and 661. It also provides for installing a sanitary sewer manhole with special corrosion resistant liner; testing procedure modifications of wastewater pipe joints; and cost under-runs and over-runs of actual quantities installed.
Change order/Amendment No.1 in the net amount of $38,070 provided for additional 27 linear feet of 60” steel casing in bore and other miscellaneous adjustments.
Change order/Amendment No. 2 in the amount of $59,932 provided for Extension of 46 linear feet of 48-inch and 11 linear feet of 60-inch steel casing pipe bores across Atmos Energy easements. This quantity increase in boring lengths is in addition to Atmos original agreement with the City’s consulting engineers; the new boring lengths span the entire width of Atmos Energy easements.
Revised project completion date is scheduled for December 15, 2016

Funding for change order #3, in the total amount of $175,829, is available as follows:
