Analysis

The owner, Johnson Family Trust, has offered to donate this portion of Lot 23, Block C to the City (See attached signed special warranty deed).   Mr. J.H. Johnson and later, the Johnson Family Trust have owned this lot since 1962.  No known environmental hazards exist on this property.  The City owns a number of parcels adjacent to this lot.

 

This lot is in the floodway of Cottonwood Creek and is not marketable or developable.

The City’s Floodplain Manager recommends acceptance of this donation. 

This lot is needed to add to the floodplain/floodway property under the City’s control.

 

The City will pay recording fees.  The owner will be responsible for payment of taxes up to the effective date of this conveyance.

 

Financial Consideration

Not to exceed $50 in filing fees.
