Analysis
On April 2, 2019, the City of Grand Prairie awarded a construction contract in the amount of $314,097.50 to Gra-Tex Utilities, Inc. for the waterline relocation to provide utility clearances for proposed fire station No.3 site at Marshall Drive between Robinson Rd and SH 161. This project included 819 linear feet of 24” and 16” PVC water main by open-cut and other related items of work.
The original design was based on an assumed connection point established prior to beginning the design of the Robin Road Pump Station. The connection point changed during the Preliminary Design Report which caused these relocations to be adjusted in order to avoid having unnecessary piping once the future Pump Station became operational. The current Change Order/Amendment No. 1 eliminates unnecessary piping that would have been left unused once the future Robinson Road Pump Station comes online in 2022. This Change Order represents approximately a 20% increase.
The completion date will be revised until the end of September 2019.
