Analysis
In FY 2018/2019, the Streets Department requested and was approved $75,000 to construct a perimeter fence around the Service Center frontage along State Highway 161. Upon further investigation and review, it was found that the Development Code requires such fencing to be a masonry type wall at least six feet in height. Staff solicited preliminary estimates and found that an additional $65,000 is necessary in order to construct a six foot masonry wall, for a total budget of $140,000.
The City Council must appropriate these funds in order to expend them.
Financial Consideration
Funding for the Service Center Security Fencing, in the amount of $65,000, is available by approving an ordinance transferring and appropriating from the Capital Reserve Fund (402590), to the Municipal Facilities Capital Projects Fund (405090), WO #01903703 (Service Center Security Fencing).
