On Tuesday, September 5, 2017 the City of Grand Prairie awarded a construction contract to Guerrero’s Construction in the amount of $418,302.50 for drainage improvements at 20th Street and Walnut.
This proposed change order No. 1 During the project construction the contractor uncovered a deficient 24” storm drain pipe. This change order will remove the deficient 24 inch storm drain on the project and plug the pipe at two locations and replace the line with 185 linear feet of class III 30 inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe with two 4 foot by 4 foot junction box structures for an amount of $41,625 and two unneeded 36 inch by 36 inch junction box structures with four unneeded 24 inch connections will be deleted from the contract for a contract deduction amount of $9,600.00. This proposed change order No. 1 will also provide for fence removal and replacement, clearing and cleaning of debris and uncovering an existing defective storm drain pipe in a city drainage right of way adjoining 1702 Cherry Street for field survey investigation for future consideration for an amount of $11,600.00. The total change order amount is a contract increase of $43,625.00 for a revised contract amount of $461,927.50.
Construction completion of the project will be increased 45 calendar days from dated of change order #1 award or March 23, 2018.

Funding for Change Order No. 1 with Guerrero’s Construction for drainage improvements at 20th Street and Walnut, in the total amount of $43,625.00, is available in the Storm Drainage Capital Projects Fund (401592), WO #01604301-03 (20th Street/Walnut Erosion).
