Analysis
The abandonment applicants, Adam Brass and Doreen Brass, have requested the abandonment of a of 7.5-foot utility easement on the south side of their lot. This proposed abandonment will assist to restore proper drainage around their existing pool.
Staff has reviewed the requested abandonment and finds that the abandonment of the 7.5-foot utility easement would not hinder drainage or utilities in the area. Existing drainage patterns must be maintained and not blocking on-coming drainage from uphill lots.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ABANDONMENT OF AN UNNEEDED PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT IN THE LAKE PARKS EAST PHASE I ADDITION TO THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE QUITCLAIM THEREOF TO ADAM BRASS AND DOREEN BRASS THE FEE OWNERS OF LOT 12, BLOCK 16, LAKE PARKS EAST PHASE I ADDITION; PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE ABANDONMENT AND QUITCLAIM MADE HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE INDEMNIFICATION OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE AGAINST DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE ABANDONMENT HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE CONSIDERATION FOR THE ABANDONMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THE ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Prairie, acting pursuant to law and upon the request and petition of Adam Brass and Doreen Brass, hereinafter referred to as GRANTEE, deems it advisable to abandon and quitclaim an unneeded public utility easement in the City of Grand Prairie, Tarrant County, Texas, more particularly described in “Exhibit A”, attached hereto and incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Prairie is of the opinion that said public utility easement is not needed for public use, and same should be abandoned and quitclaimed; and
