Analysis
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires that all cross connection control devices in the water system be tested annually and repaired or replaced as necessary. The City has approximately 75 devices that are required to be tested annually at about 40 city facilities.
Notice of bid #17019 was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, the State's Electronic Business Daily, and Bid Sync; it was distributed to sixteen vendors. There were no Grand Prairie vendors that submitted a bid. One bid was received from our current vendor as shown on attachment A.
The low bid received from Allied Flow Specialists meets specifications and is recommended for award.
Financial Consideration
Funds are available in FY 2016/2017 Water Wastewater Fund (303010-63010) for building and grounds and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the current fiscal year. Any overages will be covered by savings in other account lines and will be approved by the City Mangager's Office. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year’s approved budgets.
