Hill & Wilkinson is a local general contracting firm with a division that specializes in old building restoration. Over time, a professional and well-respected relationship has formed between our building owners and the project team of Hill & Wilkinson, Merriman Architects, and city staff with the just completed Phase 2 façade restoration. In the prior façade restoration phase, Hill & Wilkinson excelled in their customer service skills and ability to keep building owners content. Additionally, they maintained an open line of communication allowing for minimal disruption to businesses and delivered the project ahead of schedule.
Due to their previous work on the Main Street Façade Program, Hill & Wilkinson has gained the confidence of our Main Street stakeholders. Their quality of work and expertise in the construction renovation of old buildings has secured 100% participation for phase 3 which is required for the City to commence with the façade program work.
In working through the cost of restoring phase 3 individual buildings, together with staff and our architects, Hill & Wilkinson has expended significant staff time recommending cost effective restoration solutions in working with the unique nature of old buildings that were constructed at different time periods, with different materials, and techniques.
It is the recommendation of staff and Merriman Associates / Architects, Inc., that City Council approve Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors as the General Contractor for construction of this continued project which is scheduled to begin in Janu...
