Analysis
The storm drain improvements on Dickey Road was approved as part of the FY 2019 Capital Improvement Projects budget process.

Project scope for the Dickey Road storm drain improvements will include the design of a 24" to 36" diameter storm drain relief system in Dickey Road, west of SW 3rd Street to Shawnee Trace (maximum 2200 ft long) paralleling the existing storm drain line. Flow information developed as part of a 2016 study of the Indian Hills Area will be used in hydraulic calculations. The proposed improvements will be modeled using the City Drainage Design Manual as currently amended.

Engineering contract will include sub-consultant work with the Rios Group for subsurface utility services and Reed Engineering Group for geotechnical services.

Chapter 252, Section 22 of the Local Government Code allows for the exemption of competitive bidding when the expenditure is for Professional Services such as engineering services. Pacheco Koch was selected as a qualified professional due to their experience with similar projects in Grand Prairie as well as other cities and with qualified staff.

This project is scheduled for design in February 2019 and anticipated to be complete by August 2019. Construction funding is to be requested as part of the 2020 CIP Budget.
