The traffic signal controllers will not be awarded, but purchased through the current agreement with Iteris, Inc.

Analysis

This price agreement is for the purchase of traffic signal cabinets for new construction projects for the Transportation Department as well as replacements and inventory for the Public Works Street Division. The Transportation Department estimates an annual expenditure of $75,000 for new construction and the Street Division estimates an annual expenditure of $113,835 for replacement and inventory.

 

Notice of bid # 19103 was advertised and was viewed by 22 vendors, including two Grand Prairie vendors. Five bids were received as shown on attachment A.

 

The low bid from Traffic Ware meets specifications and is recommeneded for award.

 

Financial Consideration

Funds for new construction will be available in various Transportation CIP accounts. Funds for replacement and inventory are available in FY 2019/2020 budget for Traffic Signal Maintenance, (251310-63125) and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the current fiscal year. Funding for future fiscal years will be paid from that year's approved budgets.
