The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is seeking a Resolution to authorize City Manager, Tom Hart, to apply for and if awarded accept funding for the FY2016 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Grant by signing the Sub-Recipient Agreement and other grant related documents from the Office of the Governor-Homeland Security Grants Division. The grant amount has yet to be determined, but expected to remain in the same range as previous years ($150k). These funds will be managed by the OEM and allocated by project to both the Fire Department and the Police Department to provide and/or enhance emergency response equipment and planning.
Modifications include the commitment to providing applicable matching funds, in which this grant requires none and also agreeing to return all funds to the Office of the Governor (OOG) in the event of loss or misuse of grant funds.
