Analysis

The owner has agreed to sell three vacant lots for $15,000. This amount is in line with recent appraisals in that area.  The City will pay all title insurance expenses and closing costs.  These lots (as shown on the attached aerial) are more commonly known as 316, 318 and 320 Northeast 5th Street are owned by Fransico Ocanas.

 

Staff is requesting the authorization and confirmation of the purchase of three vacant lots required for improvements to the water utility facility located on Small Hill Street.  Purchase of these three lots will also improve drainage.

 

Financial Consideration

Funding for the acquisition of these parcels in the amount of $15,000 is available in the Water Capital Projects Fund (500592), WO #01307903 ( FY 13 Building Infrastructure) 68090 (Land Purchase).
