Analysis

Several streams in Grand Prairie have been assessed as part of the City-Wide Master Drainage Plans.  This contract will incorporate the results of the previous stream assessment GIS information into a single GIS layer.  Previous stream assessments that were prepared without the use of GIS will be digitized and added to the consolidated GIS layer.

Additional streams need to be inspected.  This contract will include the assessment for one stream (up to three miles in length) that will be incorporated into the GIS layer.  The stream assessment will identify location of current and possible bank failure, areas of channel aggradation and degradation, quality of riparian canopy and debris in the channel.

The final product will include an assessment of the selected stream and a documented approach for consistency in future stream assessments.
