On Tuesday, July 17, 2018 the City of Grand Prairie opened bids for Paving, Drainage, Water and Wastewater Improvements Acosta Street from Nunez to Cober. The low bidder is RKM Utility Services, Inc. in the Base Bid amount of $1,293,459.00 for total bid amount of $1,293,459.00.
This project was identified as part of the FY17 Capital Projects Budget and Capital Projects Plan for proposed paving, drainage, water and wastewater projects. Paving, Drainage, Water and Wastewater Improvements Acosta Street from Nunez to Cober provides for standard 27 foot wide reinforced concrete paving and underground storm drainage improvements to replace the existing 2 lane asphalt street and existing open roadside ditch drainage. This project also provides reinforced concrete sidewalks adjoining the street and replaces old water and wastewater mains within the limits of the project.
This project provides approximately 333 cubic yards of compacted fill, 4515 cubic yards of unclassified excavation, 228 square yards of reinforced concrete pavement removal, 4333 square yards of 10-inch thick reinforced concrete paving on compacted 8-inch thick flex base subgrade, 563 square yards of 6-inch thick reinforced concrete driveway and alley pavement, 1033 square yards of 4-inch thick reinforced concrete sidewalk, 1200 linear feet of street lighting improvements,...
