Analysis
The City of Grand Prairie Solid Waste and Recycling Division and Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful have partnered with the Grand Prairie Independent School District through the Clean and Green Campus Program since 1998.
In order to increase recycling participation and effectiveness from the individual campuses of the ISD, in 2018, the Solid Waste Division applied for a solid waste grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality through the North Central Texas Council of Governments, which would provide for recycling bins. The grant amount awarded was $49,025. Additional funds, in an amount just over $10,000 were raised through the Plastic Free Plan-It event, which concluded with a gala on November 3, 2018.
Notice of bid #19030 was advertised and distributed to twelve vendors. There was 1 Grand Prairie vendor available for this commodity. Two bids were received as shown on Attachment A.
The low bid received from Pollock Investments of Grand Prairie meets specifications and is recommended for award.
