Analysis

Clear Channel requests approval to relocate two existing billboards at 2400 E I-30 and 2701 E I-30 to locations along the south side of Interstate 30 between Bagdad Road and MacArthur Blvd. The billboard located at 2400 is currently located on the north side of I-30 and will be located to the south side of I-30 between existing billboards at 2501 E I-30 and 2701 E I-30. The billboard at 2701 E I-30 will be moved 245 feet to the east and its two faces will be converted to digital displays, as shown on page 4 of the attached Exhibit. The removal of four billboards west of MacArthur Blvd as part of the I-30 frontage road project on the north side of the highway will satisfy City requirements that 2 square feet of conventional billboard be removed for every 1 square foot of digital conversion.

As part of this request, Clear Channel proposes to move the existing sign at 2501 E I-30 10 feet closer to the road and reconfigure easements along the south side of I-30 from the current 100ft deep continuous easement to an alignment which better accomodates development on the tracts north of Gifford Street (see page 2 of the attached Exhibit.)
