This contract is for the supply and installation of a new 30 inch butterfly water valve with actuator to include concrete vault, sump pump, electrical, SCADA with tie-in to include all materials and labor, complete in place, at Avenue H and Duncan Perry.
Engineering and surveying services, preliminary and final design, for the Avenue H Flow Vault Improvement, was completed by The Wallace Group, WO #01207303 (24" Transfer valve N. I-30 17N). Bids for the flow vault improvement (#14103) were opened on May 20, 2014. There were 28 vendors notified, two responded - there were not any Grand Prairie vendors. Dake Construction the apparent low bidder, for a total amount of $222,000, meets specifications and is acceptable. A contingency amount of 5% is added to the award, making the total $233,100. Total construction cost includes an allowance of $49,876 for the City of Grand Prairie's SCADA service provider to perform the controls for the project.
