Analysis
As a part of the FY 2017 CIP budget, City Council approved $138,000 to purchase one EMS Command vehicle. It is the Fire Department's recommendation to purchase the chassis from Lovefield Dodge of Dallas and the EMS Command module (box) from Frazer, Ltd. By purchasing these two components separately we are able to save approximately $3,000. The EMS Command module is a box similar to an ambulance box, however, this unit will be a Dodge Ram 3500 opposed to the standard ambulance chassis which is a Dodge Ram 4500.
Associated cost would include a radio at a cost of $5,452 and $1,101 to purchase small tools, decals and incidental make ready to prepare the EMS Command vehicle for service.
