Analysis
As part of the FY 2016/2017 CIP funds were approved for the updating of the Fish and Cottonwood Creek Master Plan updates. This was required to account for changes that have happened since the original master plan was performed in 2012 such as the construction of Lake Ridge Parkway. Due to concerns about additional flows from a study performed in the City of Arlington, The City of Grand Prairie awarded a professional services contract to Halff Associates, Inc. in the amount of $44,760 for Fish/Cottonwood Creek City Wide Drainage Master Plan Updates to perform stream gauge analysis and preliminary hydrology and hydraulics analysis to determine revised discharges from the City of Arlington for more accurate floodplain determinations and CIP project needs.
This proposed contract amendment No. 1 provides for the remaining services to take the results of the current contract and develop new and/or updated hydrology and hydraulic floodplain models based on revised discharges from the City of Arlington, new 2016 City of Grand Prairie Lidar contour data and recent construction of new stream crossings. The current CIP projects developed as part of the 2013 Fish Creek and Cottonwood Creek City Wide Drainage Master Plan (CWDMP) studies performed by RPS Espey will be re-evaluated using the updated floodplain models. Updated FEMA/CWDMP floodplain mapping for each stream will be provided.
This work is anticipated to be complete by January 2018.
