Analysis
This equipment will replace existing construction equipment in the fleet according to the city replacement/improvement schedule and are included in the FY 2017 Approved Budget. The replaced units are:
- one (1), unit, age 2005, dozer in Landfill totaling $473,078;
- two (2), units, ages 2004-2007, backhoes in Public Works (Streets) totaling $222,586;
- one (1), unit, age 2002, wheel loader in Wastewater Maintenance totaling $189,970;
- three (3), units, age 1991-1999, skid steer loaders in Public Works (Streets), Storm Water and Wastewater totaling $194.406, and
-one (1), unit, skid steer loader for Landfill totaling $69,794.

Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in cooperative purchasing programs with other local governments or local cooperative organizations. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as they have performed the bidding processes by the sponsoring entities or agencies. The City of Grand Prairie utilizes existing master, inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including the Buyboard interlocal agreement.
