Analysis
The City of Grand Prairie City Council entered into a five-year franchise agreement with Republic Waste Services on October 1, 2009. The franchise agreement was amended on October 18, 2011 with a 2.5% increase for commercial and residential collection. In response to increasing costs of doing business Republic Services has requested a 1.75% increase to both commercial and residential solid waste hauling rates to be effective November 6, 2012.
