Analysis
There are six Water Utilities locations requiring improvements of either interior/exterior lighting or both for safety and security at each of the following sites.
1. Terminal Storage located in Cedar Hill - Exterior
2. 109th Street Tower - Both
3. Matthew Road Well Site - Exterior
4. Peninsula Tower - Both
5. Bowles Tower - Interior
6. Traders Tower - Interior
Chapter 271.102 of the Local Government Code authorizes local governments to participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or local cooperative organization. In lieu of competitive bidding, items and services may be purchased through such agreements as the agreements have already been bid by the sponsoring entity or agency. The City of Grand Prairie has master inter-local cooperative agreements with various entities including the City of Irving.
George-McKenna Electrical, Inc. through their contract with the City of Irving (ITB 066J-19F) offers electrical repair services for Water Utilities. George-McKenna Electrical Contractors have provided electrical repair services for Water Utilities for the past two years and are familiar with our facilities and equipment.
Financial Consideration
Funding for this purchase of electrical services to replace existing LED lights at Grand Prairie Water Towers from George-McKenna Electrical, Inc., in the amount of $73,287.91, is available in the FY 2018/2019 Water Wastewater Fund, WDST (361211) for Water Well Maintenance (63045).
