Analysis
The abandonment applicants, CJ HUNT INVESTMENTS, LLC, have requested the abandonment of utility and access easements located in the middle of 3501 Roy Orr Blvd. The owner wants to construct a commercial building on the property. All public utility companies have agreed with the abandonment.
Staff has reviewed the requested abandonment and finds that the abandonment of easements will not hinder drainage or utilities in the area.

READ SURVEY ABSTRACT NO. 1183 TO THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE, DALLAS COUNTY, TEXAS (3501 ROY ORR BLVD.); PROVIDING FOR THE QUITCLAIM THEREOF TO CJ HUNT INVESTMENTS, LLC, A TEXAS LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY, THE FEE OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY CONVEYED BY SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED FILED OCTOBER 15, 2015, INSTRUMENT NUMBER 201500276436; PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE ABANDONMENT AND QUITCLAIM MADE HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE INDEMNIFICATION OF THE CITY OF GRAND PRAIRIE AGAINST DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE ABANDONMENT HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE CONSIDERATION FOR THE ABANDONMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THE ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grand Prairie, acting pursuant to law and upon the request and petition of CJ HUNT INVESTMENTS, LLC, a Texas Limited Liability Company, hereinafter referred to as GRANTEE, deems it advisable to abandon and quitclaim unneeded public utility and access easements in the City of Grand Prairie, Dallas County, Texas, more particularly described in “Exhibits A and B”, attached hereto and incorporated herein; and
