Analysis

Since May 2014, Relief Services for Veterinary Practitioners (RSVP) has been contracted to provide veterinary services to animals within the City's shelter. This includes up to 45 spay/neuter surgery's per day, vaccinations, and medical exams. These services promote a healthy population and facilitate our ability to maximize our life-saving capacity. Additionally, the vet provided through RSVP services is our vet on record with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to allow the use of controlled substances necessary for operations.

Notice of bid #19040 was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, the State's Electronic Business Daily, and Bid Sync; it was viewed by four vendors. There were no Grand Prairie vendors available for this commodity.  One bid was received as shown in attachment 1.  Relief Services for Veterinary Practitioners (RSVP) meets all specifications and is recommended for award.

Financial Consideration

Funding for the price agreement for veterinary services are available in the FY 2018/2019 General Fund Animal Services Budget (301110 - 61055) for Veterinarian Services and will be charged accordingly on orders through the end of the current fiscal year and continue into FY 2019/2020.
