Analysis

The PID Board recommended that a contract for a playground be awarded to Child's Play, Inc.  The playground will be located on the east side of Lake Ridge Parkway at 4731 High Hawk Boulevard.

 

Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 252.022 (a) (9) exempts public improvement districts from competitive bidding requirements. Per that statute, the PID Advisory Board is empowered to enter into contracts such as the one with Child's Play, Inc. following approval by the City Council.

 

Financial Consideration

Funds for this contract are available from beginning fund balance of $490,000 and from annual assessments adopted by the City Council on September 20, 2016, which are estimated to generate $331,577 for the fiscal year.
