Analysis
On July 23, 2012 the City entered into a contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. in the amount of $32,000 to review and evaluate water quality and odor-related conditions in the Peninsula area of the water distribution system. FNI evaluated laboratory results and reviewed various factors for potential association or contribution to the odors observed by area residents. FNI also assisted in preparing and reviewing a survey for residents and prepared a technical memorandum with preliminary findings.
The proposed Change Order/Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $29,000 will engage services of drinking water odor evaluation national expert, train local team and conduct in-home odor evaluations, provide recommendations for additional sampling and analysis, provide memorandum summarizing additional results and recommendations, prepare presentatino of finding for Homeowner associations, and attendance at Homeowner association meetings.
With acceptance of the proposed Change Order/Amendment No. 1, the revised contract amount will be $61,000 with an expiration date of January 31, 2015.
